- Dr. Gaurav Kharya is a renowned Hematologist with 23 years of experience treating blood disorders and pediatric blood cancers.
- He is known for introducing the haploidentical bone marrow transplant for sickle cell disease and has conducted over 1000 transplants successfully.
- In 2001, he completed MBBS from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur and DCH in 2004 from Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur.
- Later, he did DNB (Paediatrics) at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, in 2007.
- He received fellowship in pediatric hematoma-oncology, immunology & bone marrow transplant from The Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, in 2013.
- Dr. Kharya has various publications in national and international journals and is actively involved in developing India’s own cell and gene therapy products.
